The skilled independent 189 visa is a permanent residency visa for skilled workers who want to live and work in Australia. To be eligible for this visa, you must meet the points test requirements. You must score at least 65 points to be eligible for the visa.
The points test is based on the following factors:
- Age: You must be under 45 years of age to be eligible for the visa. The maximum points you can score for age is 30 points.
- English language proficiency: You must demonstrate English language proficiency through one of the following tests: IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or OET. The maximum points you can score for English language proficiency is 20 points.
